Blush is a generative simulation environment that models the flow and blending dynamics of paint. An array of control parameters allow artists and designers to experiment with hue, saturation, blending characteristics, and viscosity. These design experiments can be rendered as still images or animations that highlight the paint-like qualities of the digital material.

Uncertainty Clock draws on the dataset generated by Fermilab’s Muon g-2 experiment to generate a field of virtual particles. The behavior of the particles is influenced by features of the data, such as the number of muons detected by the 24 calorimeters, and the structural pattern of the particles reflects the experimental design of the experiment.

Natural Machine Landscapes is a speculative design and sculpture project that leverages Artificial Intelligence to imagine synthetic landscapes. A large corpus of landscape terrain data was scraped from the internet with custom software and used as training data for a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) that I implemented. Once trained, the GAN produced novel, synthetic elevation maps in the style of the original data. Selections from these synthetic images are then 3D printed to produce sculptural representations of the Natural Machine Landscapes. 
The imagined landscapes provide a point of reflection on the future of technology’s interactions with reality and the implications of synthetic experience in a world where the boundaries between the virtual and the physical continue to blur.

Portrait of a Nation highlights voices of protest in a humble attempt to support and stand in solidarity with the anit-racist movement. These voices, recorded June 2020 during protests in Los Angeles, energize the figurative network of the visualization and the literal network of the Black Lives Matter movement.
