In 2021, thanks to the generous hospitality of collectors Umberto Morera and Anna Maria Balsano Morera, Maja Arte Contemporanea launched its first artist residency.

Held annually in **May**, the month-long Residency takes place in **Romazzano**, a small village located about 8 km from **Todi** (Perugia, **Italy**).

In keeping with the Gallery’s commitment to fostering concrete initiatives in support of women in contemporary art, the Residency is **open exclusively to female artists**.

The Artist awarded the Residency will have exclusive use of a self-contained, fully furnished apartment for the entire month of **May 2026**. The apartment is located on a large private property in a rural area, 8 km from the town of Todi (Perugia), Italy. Access to a car — either owned or rented — is essential, as nearby towns and villages (where food and basic supplies can be purchased) are only reachable by private vehicle.

The Artist will receive a contribution of €1,000 towards living expenses at the beginning of the Residency.
