A Good NapGenerational Nap is a part of an ongoing series of the landscapes of my mind featuring moments defined by the quiet joy and the security of shared rest. I used loose, almost child-like marks in oil stick for the backdrop to add in even more texture and vibration to the scene in a way that evokes a sense of innocence and raw emotion. The figures are loosely defined, their forms blending into the surrounding textures, emphasizing the comfort and unity of their bond.

A Good Nap (Landscapes of My Mind)

'Swing' is a painting of my 4 year old son doing one of his most favorite activities of our daily routine. He is autistic, non-speaking, and loves the sensory input that swinging provides. I painted swing to memorialize this beloved moment we share everyday and to honor the diverse ways we express joy, connect with ourselves and connect with others.
