This piece is part of a body of work exploring critical moments when major changes in direction, concavity, or trajectory occur in natural environments.

The collage combines original photography with an archival image cataloged in the State Library and Archives of Florida to tell the story of ecological resilience.

The original digital image of seagrapes was taken at Clam Pass Beach Park, a 35-acre coastal preserve in Naples, Florida. The Seagrape plant _(occoloba uvifera_) is native to Florida and is often associated with resilience, adaptability, and protection in coastal environments, due to its strong root system. The image was captured on location at Clam Pass State Park, Naples, Florida, and later edited to accentuate the emerging new growth.

The collage also includes an archival image of beaches in and around Naples, Florida, from the State Library and Archives of Florida (floridamemory.com/discover/), ca. 1887-1990, now featured as part of the Koreshan Unity Collection. The image was edited to black and white, and the background was removed to create a mystic, dreamlike image.
