This is one of the birds my father loves to photograph.

This work is inspired by a collage. It was one of my first exercise painting abstract with collages as inspiration. 

Raymond is my brother in law. It was inspired by a photo my son took. it was a funny and blurry photo. It was also my first time challenging myself painting something in this size. The proportion, the shape and everything was off at first. I spent lots of time and effort to complete this work. I might have done it different it now looking at it from the hindsight.

I have devoted lots of love and passion for this piece. It is inspired by a photo I took when our entire family went Corpus Cristi for the first time since the pandemic. That morning, we climbed up to a little hill for a beautiful view on the sea. I stood behind my children and my father in law. Watching their interactions, I suddenly felt there was lots of hope and positive energy despite we had lots of difficulties in this devastated year.

  
In August 2023, this art work has received the merit award in 3x3 Illustration Magazine 20th competition.

Self portrait with just two hues. It was a very fun experiment for me.
