Shredded fragments of the artist’s self-portraits on a heap of polyurethane supported by a stainless steel cube with welded edges. This work pushes the subject of this self-portrait beyond recognition by creating a fragmented and fluid object that seems to transform into something else. This labour intensive work took the artist a year to complete as each self-portrait fragment was individually applied by hand.

The impossibility of nihilism

Two transparant videos playing over each other of the artist is chiseling away at his wax bust-sculpture. The second half of the video is the reversed version of the first half of the video, creating an endless loop of destruction and reparation.

The eternal return

The artist's self-portrait turned upside down and inside out, mechanically knitted in primary colours. This work seeks to question the rational and abstract legacy of Piet Mondriaan by using his iconic colour palette to create a delirious and figurative image.
