A long time ago I wrote a poem Lemon Fish Twists in a champagne glass, a good friend Julian created a song out of. I loved it and had to include it here, I then returned to that poem for the album title and track. 
I wanted the album to be diverse in sounds, pulling from Dance, techno, neoclassical, just anything I could throw in there that worked. 
I hope you enjoy it as much as I had putting it together.

This track features samples from Native Instruments Community set, featuring the incredible talents of Philo, BT, Sia, Junkie XL, Miquela. I mashed it up to create this track.

I will Hunt You - Skin Vehicles

There is something exciting about the remix, something new created from something old. A re-imagining. A different concept or style is created. But it is never free of its past. It owes everything to the original work. The concept for the painting was a cry for help. Humanity is self destructing. We need to turn it all off before we wipe ourselves out.

As I was working on the painting, a housefly landed on the painting and I realised, no other creature cares about anything we care about. We are unimportant to the fly.  Just another surface to land on. Very limited edition of 10 printed on canvas or giclée available - signed and numbered then the original file is destroyed.

We're in Chaos and the Flies dont give a damn

The world is falling, caving in on itself all we knew is now a memory not a reality. The empires we knew are collapsing. The Empires are declining.

I painted 'The Decline of Empires' with this track working its way through my mind. I think this is the first time I composed and created simultaneously.

Sometimes when I finish the painting that is not the end of the creative process. Sometimes it leads to a new piece of music, sometimes a new piece of art. I will sometimes create a digital remix of the original art. Taking the concept of the work and elaborate on it or maybe take the piece in. a totally diferent direction. This is a response to lonliness, isolation something the virus has caused us all to feel. Taking the balance of the original painting and creating an imbalanced digital response. 

All the digital remix works are only available in limited editions of 10 then the original file used to create the work is destroyed.

Atomic Imbalance in Isolation

Executed while listening to Captain Beefheart’s bluesy album, Blue Jeans and Moonbeams, this painting Dreams Moonbeams and Street Scenes explores the illusion of depth within the flat canvas, without the use of any visual ploys. Thanks to the overlapped lines, the painting becomes an abyss of colour from which irradiates blasts of light.

Light scatters, flits noiselessly around your vision. Fast, linear blasts impacting against and across or through objects. Cutting through the night. As you wander the streets, grinning, the night is filled with music, dreams, and expectation.

Dreams Moonbeams and Street scenes

I wanted to capture how it felt right now. In the world, capitalism has taken a hit. The world has been attacked by an invisible killer that changes people's point of view: helplessness and anger are the main feelings now. People have turned to conspiracy theories and crazy ideologies.

As we begin to recover, we see how easily empires can fall. Global corporate structures that took decades to create have fallen after three months of hibernation. Capitalism is far more fragile than we thought. Through all this time, a few stories have weaved a separate narrative. The BLM movement has had a captive audience. We have learned the colonial history of statues, we have learned what people feel towards those statues. 2020 has been a time of introspection, of learning. 

This painting and the music are a reflection of 2020 through my lens. For the first time, I created the painting and the music simultaneously. As I worked on the ideas I wanted to show on the painting, I composed the music, and while I painted, I worked through the music in my mind.

The Decline of Empires

Everything works in balance. Without balance, if one idea gains too much traction it upsets the equilibrium and will cause disruptions.

This painting is about finding that balance between the foreground and background, to find a level of agreement to work back from.

Atomic Balance (Sold)

Painted as ‘Alla Prima’, the brushwork is rapid and systematic to accentuate the meaning of the title, The Hidden Truth of Domestic Bliss. This painting is an emotional exploration of the idea of perfection, in particular of what people perceive perfection through the distorted lenses of social media.

We all have an idea on what is perfection. We have an idea of other relationships as we see them on social media platforms. They all seem happier than we are. Living perfect lives. We only see the best of what people share about themselves. What lies behind suburban deceptions of happiness and perfection?

This painting is an allegory to the intricate layers of lies and distorted perception of happiness presented on social media. We all are part of this matrix of believing that others have a perfect and happier life, by merely seeing a photo. Nobody is perfect. There is chaos, there is destruction. Secrets and lies. All this behind and beyond the pretty little wonders that is reflected through the social media windows.

The Hidden Truth of Domestic Bliss

A track of happiness - Something really needed right now.  I wanted to bring you some glittering sparkles with this.  music with a bright shining smile. 
Glitra is an Icelandic word for Sparkle - a subtle hint towards Bjork who this music is a nod to.
