For artists Christine Sloan Stoddard, John Davis and Deniz Zeynep, channeling their creative abilities has been key to survival.

Stoddard, Davis and Zeynep all contributed to a video published titled “Artist in Quarantine,” featuring bright color schemes and stunning videography to give viewers an inside look at what it’s like to be an artist confined to their home. It draws a line between the indoors and outdoors and shows their differences while narrating a work of art."

"The Socially Distant Artist Residency program was created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and associated social distancing practices put in place in early 2020. As the COVID-19 pandemic develops, we are facing substantial effects on our social lives. As social gatherings and events have been cancelled, and public spaces have been closed, we may find ourselves in solitude more than ever. 

The Socially Distant Artist Residency started in March 2020 and will continue until W.H.O declares the coronavirus pandemic over. While the world works to resolve the COVID-19 outbreak, our Artists in Residence are dedicating their time in isolation or quarantine to making work about loneliness, solitude and social (dis)connection. "
