This work represents disorder with the lack of recognition being ever present. The hues divide the image into slices of reality. A visual lawlessness ensues as you view the image. The disorienting spaces come to life in a radical collaboration of color, space, and contrast.

I created this body of work to explore chaos within my own work. My previous series, Paris Still Lifes, was very calm and structured. The Anarchy series breaks all the rules that I have set for myself. I have worked in a monochromatic medium for years so the injection of color and asymmetrical elements opens a totally new world for me.

Tower Bridge - Anarchy series

Vertically placed Chao Phraya breaks from traditional views of the landscape. The abstract lines fold into one another creating majestic shapes reminiscent of monuments. 

  
I am exploring the subtle details between black and white, where the other shades exist quietly, waiting to become visible. The transitions of the tide are a metaphor for peeling back the layers of time and allowing the areas beneath the surface to be seen. I expose those spaces, the powerful waves, the sharp reef, the deep landscape that pushes over the horizon line, and the complex life that lives below the surface.

Chao Phraya I - UNSEEN 

This series explores the environment and the changes reflected from one city to another. The work is produced with multiple lenses that shift the image as the viewer moves. It asks many questions of how the cross filtering of society effects our perspective of the world.

  

Venice + Paris - Vanishing Point series

I am exploring the matrix of fabricated environments with this series. Layering various landscapes to create a multi-dimensional world. The transparent film can be viewed as a look into an alternate reality. One that invites you to read between the lines, to become transparent in your thoughts and feelings. And to find truth in this ever changing world. 
  
  

Joshua Tree + Graffiti - In Full Transparency series

My images from Paris still lifes capture the delicate beauty and perfection within the iconic Parisian landscape. The complex architectural design that exists within the streets, buildings, churches, and gardens of Paris intrigues me. When I explore the city with my Hasselblad I am captivated by its grandeur. It is sublime.

Jardin du Palais Royal - Paris Still Lifes series

Honoring the colorful platform and glorious architectural space a library offers the inhabitants has influenced this series. History is contained and available to all without prejudice. And that knowledge is power to those who seek it inside the literal environment of the library. 

  
I have traveled the world seeking these phenomenal spaces, capturing the grandeur and beauty held within the walls. I have learned what it is to be a “reader” and to be part of the welcoming culture. 

  
The spaces are empty, this is intentional, it is deliberate to arrive early before the room fills. I patiently wait, I observe, and I compose each frame. As in my mind, I enjoy the quiet. To find a moment of calmness in the busy day to day interactions and capture this feeling.

I am often asked who this person is in the frame - I answer: it is you, it is me, it is us - emerging from the currents of assimilation.

Pai - UNSEEN

Through this series I am exploring landscapes above the surface. Bringing nature, structure and humanity together symbiotically invites the viewer to hover in the moment before them and explore. Movement through the works transitions from hues of green with fire filled skies to the balanced architectural spaces and dives into depths of blue defined. Ascending to a vantage point to provide context and placement through a myriad of landscapes allows me to give space to the images being viewed.

Blue Defined - Just Above Sea Level series

I knew from the moment I viewed this piece it would be inverted. 

Ping pulls you in and allows you to be present. The dark abyss is lifted by the reflective light across the surface. 

We have all come through darkness and isolation and stepped into the light.
