EMACIATED WOMAN

Stefano Filipponi, stage name Arcadia, is a singer/songwriter, artist and performer who lives in Milan, in Italy.
This story is born from a profound and involving process of knowledge between me and Stefano/Arcadia, in order to discover the person behind the artist and the artist behind the person. With a kind, unique and authentic soul, he is one the most talented people I have ever met. During these last two years, during our meetings, I felt that Stefano, who is very introverted, slowly opened up with me and I, in return, with him. He allowed me to understand his world and by opening the doors he invited me to enter: I went down a million stairs and I arrived to Arcadia.
Suddenly, his world also became mine: Stefano/Arcadia welcomed me in a fascinating, wonderful, overwhelming, romantic, unexpected glittered-chic-pop-kawaii dimension. Together we celebrated, with pride, courage and empathy, art and music, identity and diversity, the Camp and creative freedom. We both trusted each other blindly, dedicating passion in this work through a sincere and emotional personal exchange, which it has now turned into a beautiful friendship.

“Beneath The Surface” is an abstract, mixed-media painting on canvas by the art collective BlackOUT Art.

The Staircase is a conceptual assemblage artwork that incorporates found objects, collage, and total abstraction seamlessly alongside representational forms. The wood backboard was likely once part of a table, to which layers of spray, oil, and acrylic paints were applied. As a “painted installation,” it extends beyond its physical space to engage with its surroundings. It is the centerpiece for BlackOUT’s Ascension series (2021), and originally intended to be displayed alongside the rest of the works, which include Prometheus, Beneath The Surface, and “Z.”

Conceptually, this work explores the spiritual and anthropological traditions of various ancient peoples. It places particular emphasis on nature and forest-linked cultures, such as the Celts. To accentuate this connection, The Staircase was executed outdoors in Florida wilderness and at historic locations in order to conjure the final work’s distinct aura. This is furthered with interwoven arcane symbology and selective abstraction.

The Staircase harkens back to the original essence of autumn and winter, when the season was understood as a “thinning of the veil” between realms. This piece is a manifestation of that veil. As such, it can be considered an anti-commercial artwork that invites the viewer to ascend in their individual spiritual journey through the pathways of their inner worlds, realms, and dimensions.

These artworks (2019) represent the reason why it's important that each of us must do our part to stay human, in order to feel a sense of belonging in the world. We can encourage ourselves to do better, to reflect on our mental health, healing and caring each other. The aim of every human is to find out how to reconnect the heart to the head.

ALONE TOGETHER 

This series belongs to a personal research about visual perception of urban environment. Here I try to step back from  the focus horizon, or understanding soil and try to catch the blurred point of view of an expact who approaches a foreign country and differernt environment.
Visual cracks are therefore moments of focuse and comprehension.

This selection represents the atmosphere  I've perceived in South Korea and mostly in Seoul. 
The city, its urbanscapes and people are like submerged in a vaste acquarium. Main peculiarties of this environment are the strong attachment to traditions such as the hunger to look foward and discover. I've tried to explore these opposite sides by proposing a variety of situations: grey buildings, fancy garbage, bright nature and portraits are the subjects I focused on.

on. The pics were either taken in CBD and suburbs too, following the signs of an exotic and savage nature. By wandering around, i perceived a vivid and raw materiality made of leaves and dyes, wild skyscrapers and nightlights. Surrounded by an unpredictable citylife, people are sometimes struggled in their emotions and distracted from reality. As time went by, I got used of shooting in a black&white state of mind. This style has soon became the perfect mean to express two sides of reality: the solid and textured existence opposed to the alienation of human being.

This series is about how the urban-scapes have intimately affected my perception during a gap year spent in Sydney; buildings, streets and humans were the subjects i’ve mostly focused on. The pics were either taken in CBD and suburbs too, following the signs of an exotic and savage nature. By wandering around, i perceived a vivid and raw materiality made of leaves and dyes, wild skyscrapers and nightlights. Surrounded by an unpredictable citylife, people are sometimes struggled in their emotions and distracted from reality. As time went by, I got used of shooting in a Black&white state of mind. This style has soon became the perfect mean to express two sides of reality: the solid and textured existence opposed to the alienation of human being.

The project theoretical frame is about onthology of individuals. Through my work I try  to show how individuals are given by inner characters, environment and their own free will. 

I will handle metal pieces to create wall installation using a process of oxidation and a process of sculpting to manipulate the inner character of the material. 

I want to show that the unchosen conditions (inner character and process of oxidation as environment) are not deterministic. Hence,everyone has the space to her own free will.

I manipulate the process of oxidation and the inner characters of materials in a experimental way that allow me to check to relevance of three variables: exposure of the piece on oxidative liquid, kind of oxidative liquid, kind of metal
