Designed specifically for the 1921 Atlantic lobby, ‘On my way’ is about nourishing the mind through windows to the outside world. The challenging focal corners of the two-story wall are oddly placed due to an elongated adjacent active staircase. The resulting execution is a series of empowering triangular windows that expand as residents approach the wall lobby from the elevator corridor, promoting a sense of hope, as every day is an opportunity to grow. The mixed media abstract mural features rare collage elements on a wall surface. With a calming blue tone, cut pieces of a canvas are collaged directly on to the wall to create textures and movements. Layered chrome and translucent metallic tones painted in curved shapes combine with the collage layering to add dimensionality. When transposed against rigid white borders the effect is that of a series of windows which celebrate the strength and efficacy of vulnerability.

The collage series entitled “Seamless moments” referencing the Zen Buddhist philosophy of past, present and future existing as one continual moment. In her distinctive water-based process, she layers hand-cut pieces of her own paintings, including hand-written notes of journal-like personal reflections, and delicately adorns them with spray paint and line drawings to create movement in the intricate composition.
