What if… we could travel in time? A young and beautiful actress (Ornella Muti) gets 1978 this option, offered by a mysterious Tarot man (Roger Moore). Ornella Muti, once sexiest woman alive and Italian movie star of the early 80’s, appears in our today’s world, where every starlet owns an instagram account, where any movement is filmed by iPhones. The “Italian Game” plays with the visual language of the late 70’s and early 80’s and the esthetics of the instagram generation – and tells us something about… ourselves.
MAKING OF: Albert Einstein told that time travels are possible… But how?
The artist Joseph Ayerle, FLORENCE BIENNALE FINALIST 2017 used for this project a brand new technology: artificial intelligence. An artificial neural network (Google Tensorflow/Deepfake) analyzed more than 1000 original images of the film star Ornella Muti, analyzed her face and re-created the 80’s megastar. The body double for the new Ornella Muti was the American model and instagram star Kendall Jenner. The “Italian Game” is the first artvideo with a cast, created by artificial intelligence. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Videokunst#Technik,_digitale_Medien_und_k%C3%BCnstliche_Intelligenz
