Yoshiharu Mishio is an engraver and painter based in Japan. His main artwork ranges from engraving and drawing, to sculpture made from natural objects. He creates as a means to express his internal universe; a universe that no one, not even himself, has ever seen.
“There are obscure images coming to my mind all the time as sort of incomplete messages. Through various ways of expression, these unknown images and illusions form my artworks, working as metaphors. For me, the different materials and tools I use (copper plate, burin, ink, paper…) act as a bridge between my internal fantasy and reality.
I believe in living images. Not in definitive fixed images.”
