Situated in the listed former premises of the AEG, the SPREEHALLE invites and collaborates with acclaimed musicians from all over the world. The SPREEHALLE provides a unique opportunity to experiment with sound in a wide variety of styles, from jazz or electronic to avant-garde, thanks to its specially developed 360º audio installation: the TRANSFORMATOR. THe 32 channels of the surround sound speaker system call on the artist at the SPREEHALLE to create new immersive sound experiments.
The SPREEHALLE is located in the creative quarter Oberschöneweide on the banks of the SPREE and in the immediate vicinity of the studios of successful artists such as Alicja Kwade, Olafur Eliasson and Jorinde Voigt. In this environment, the SPREEHALLE offers a new space for artistic innovation in all areas, focusing not on consensus, but on variety and diversity and thereby helping artists and visitors to gain new perspectives.
