Reily Joel Calderón Rivera, a LATINO and queer Puerto Rican cisgender man, was born on February 22, 1995 in Caguas, in the U.S. colony of Puerto Rico. In 2017 he obtained his bachelor's degree in Environmental Design granted by the School of Architecture of the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, located in the capital city San Juan. Also, in that year he obtained a certification on Women and Gender Studies offered by the Faculty of General Studies of the same Campus. In 2020 he completed his master's degree in Architecture at the same institution. His master's thesis, which problematized the relationships of space and gender, was rated with an 'Outstanding Pass' by the members of his advisors committee.
As part of his training, he had the opportunity to prepare himself as a future architect and take courses related to the social constructions of the body, gender and performative manifestations. Simultaneously, he belonged to and headed the Student Council of the School of Architecture and was part of the Advisory Body for the Development of Río Piedras.
