Pakhee Jha is an upcoming artist living in Mumbai, presently a Fine Art student at Nottingham Trent University. Painting being her predominant medium, she explores narratives through figuration, often with influences that are historical or derived from memory, literature or a combination of the two. She aims to present those aspects of a story- true, imagined, obscure or ambiguous- that deserve to be told, or are most suitable to emphasise the truth of her chosen subjects, thereby unearthing knowledge that evades many or is unrightfully overlooked.
She has exhibited with the renowned Indian organization Artisstry that works on an international level, in 2016 and 2018; her art has also led to the Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation to invite her to a judging panel in 2019.
Themes from her influences that can often be seen in her art are spirituality, yoga, classicalism and storytelling. Though these are not always relatable to a wide range of viewers, she hopes that her audiences enjoy the mental/emotional experience that her artwork brings to them regardless of their individual understanding of it. Aiming to create visuals that are pleasantly inviting to others, she chooses not to rely solely upon subject matter for reaching audiences.
