Marta Lodola (born in 1985, Italy) is a visual artist specialized in performance art. She works with performance site-specific, long durational, photographic self-timer, video and illustration. Her actions are part of medidative states, catarsies, improvisation, body as a sculpture, installations. Her artistic practice point to study the relationships created amongst the body and its surrounding context. By focusing creating discourses, possible solutions to social issues that are affecting the freedom of the individuals. Marta Lodola consider art as a tool of resistance. Her practice renews awereness to the political and public role of art, finding again its own field of action within the social context. The aim is the actualization of themes revolving around dailylife dynamics, creating a quarrel to critical situations and providing the possibility for a comparison and removal of barriers between human beings.
