Project manager for the development of the former power plant Eidsvoll Verk, 19 km from Oslo Airport. The project is a collaboration between Akershus county, Mathiesen Eidsvold Værk ANS and Eidsvoll municipality.
Maria Veie Sandvik (b. 1977) established Galleri Maria Veie in 2008 and is co-founder of UFO, Exhibition guide for Oslo. She has a cand.philol degree in Art History from the University in Oslo, UiO (2005), is Art Editor of Minerva and has published essays about the ”Oslo-scene”.
Maria Veie Sandvik has an iconological approach to curating and has curated site-specific projects in Norway, Sweden, Germany, France, the Netherlands, USA and Hong Kong. Galleri Maria Veie opened at Skogn in December 2008 and in Oslo in spring 2009, and has since shown some fifty exhibitions.
"Devouring the Sun" by Johannes Høie and the performance "Codename: Sailor V" by Sissel Bjørkli made the grand finale in the legendary Oslo-space that earlier hosted the black metal record shop "Helvete" (Hell). Sandvik´s last productions was the Photography workshop "Oslokids" for 1200 pupils, and as one of eleven international curators attending Node´s Curatorial Residency program in Berlin which culminated in "As Everything Moves" at Meinblau Kunsthaus 5 - 7th Dec 2013. Currently she is working on the project "TOMROM" for Norwegian Art Associations that will open for the public May 7th 2015 in Sandefjord and Larvik.
