Born in Palermo, Italy in 1989. After graduating from high school, Francesca moved to Germany where in 2012 started studying photography at Osktreuzschule. Here, she acknowledged theory and history as well as learned the compositional and technical aspects of photography, with a highlight on its artisanal sphere: analog image-making, chemical processing and darkroom printing. During the school years she gradually shaped her personal visual language and decisively focused on Portrai and Fine Art photography. Highly influenced by Surrealism and inspired by Abstraction theories, her work can be translated with the incorporation of the human experience into an imaginary dimension. Often synthesising the ordinary with the transcendent Francesca combines autobiographical details with a cultural commentary.
