The journal is dedicated to covering independent and world cinema, with a particular focus on interesting films and filmmakers overlooked by the established film media. Although we don’t mind sinking our teeth into a fresh batch of summer blockbusters, what gets our cinematic juices flowing is the sight and sound of authentic and gutsy filmmaking. We don’t roll our eyes at big budget commercial films nor do we automatically swoon for films that come under the arthouse label. We prefer to wrestle with the ideas and ambiguities, and encourage opinionated, even ranting pieces which show in-depth understanding of the topic at hand. The journal aims to be a forum of eclectic film criticism, study and discussion, made by and for people who are seriously passionate about film.
