The selection process for artists in residence at the French Academy in Madrid is aimed at artists wishing to develop an artistic creation project in the Iberian Peninsula. During the year-long residency, projects may be developed through a specific artistic practice or from a multidisciplinary perspective. Applicants must, however, declare a primary artistic discipline at the time of application: drawing, printmaking, sculpture, painting, architecture, musical composition, choreography, photography, film, and video.
Candidate profile: artists, recent graduates and/or established artists wishing to develop an artistic creation project in the Iberian Peninsula, holding a higher artistic studies diploma or able to demonstrate significant artistic practice.
Project: a specific artistic creation project must present the motivations for the stay, the research themes as well as the nature of the work envisaged during the residency.
Duration: 12 months for the residency grant (September 1, 2027 - August 31, 2028), with a period of occupancy from mid-September 2027 to the end of July 2028
