Residency Overview
The Revolú Residency is a short-term, high-impact international artist residency based in Mexico City. It is designed for mid-career or strongly emerging visual artists, curators, and art historians who are actively
developing or finalizing a focused project.
Revolú Gallery operates a satellite space in Mexico City, where the residency program is held. The residency lasts four weeks of focused work. It culminates in a two-week exhibition or public presentation
hosted at this gallery space, offering each resident an opportunity to engage with local audiences, visiting professionals, and Revolú’s broader curatorial network.
Focus
We support practitioners who balance conceptual depth with artistic clarity, and who can demonstrate that their proposed project is both feasible within the residency period and aligned with the residency’s mission of fostering dialogue across
disciplines and borders.
Selection
A jury of distinguished curators and scholars will review applications:
Margo Hobbs — A leading feminist art historian whose work redefines how identity and activism are written into art history. Professor at Muhlenberg College and past President of the Women’s Caucus for Art, she brings a critical edge that bridges scholarship, curatorial practice, and the politics of visibility.
Natalie Espino — Director of Education and Programs at the Hispanic Society Museum & Library, where she reinvents how one of the world’s great collections engages the public. With a background in architecture and cultural strategy, she is known for shaping bold, accessible, and globally resonant programming.
