Structured around three thematic axes—Global Histories of Museums and Collections, Circulations of Styles, Images, and Texts, and Precious Materials and Routes of Exchange—the program engages with key areas of art historical scholarship while fostering research collaborations beyond the museum’s walls.
At its core, the program draws on Louvre Abu Dhabi’s research facilities, which comprise the Resource Center, the Library, the Conservation Center, and a Scientific Laboratory enabling material analysis of artworks—the first of its kind in the Gulf region. In addition, the program hosts symposiums, workshops, and publications designed to stimulate dialogue and disseminate knowledge around the museum’s collections and related fields.
