Overview

On September 2, 2022, the Fanak Fund opens the call for applications for its support program intended to help structure artistic and cultural teams.

Zodeh is a program aimed at supporting the resilience of independent artistic and cultural initiatives, collectives, companies and enterprises of modest size (less than 20,000 euros in annual turnover) established in the member countries of the Arab League and in the Middle East (including Turkey and Persian-speaking countries) for at least two years.

The allocated funds are intended for equipment, renovation, expertise, training, etc. and aim at the sustainable consolidation of the project. This support is not intended to finance artistic or cultural production. The beneficiary structure must be independent, non-confessional, non-political. The beneficiary structure must demonstrate its cultural and artistic commitment to serving its local community.

The Zodeh Fund is open to all scholarship applications that meet the Fanak Fund eligibility criteria . Candidates can apply online from September 2 to October 2, 2022.

The Fanak Fund Selection Committee will consider the following priorities:

The application must be submitted by a person responsible/in charge of the structure. Public or semi-public structures are not eligible.

The candidate (structure, collective or leader) must be based in Arab League member countries, or in the Middle East, including Turkey and Persian-speaking countries.

All areas of contemporary artistic creation are eligible, including heritage and research projects (cultural policies). Humanitarian actions or school or university projects are not eligible for this fund.

Although open to all projects in these geographic regions, the Zodeh fund will pay particular attention to projects established in rural or peri-urban areas, as well as to all projects contributing to the transmission of values such as the protection of diversity of cultural expressions, the implementation of cultural rights, freedom of expression and creation, fair exchange and solidarity.

The results of this program will be announced on November 1, 2022 (Deadline for receipt of complete application files: 2/10/2022).
