Gasworks Participation Residency is an 8-month opportunity for London-based artists to work collaboratively with people and communities who live, work or study in Lambeth and Southwark. The programme supports artists to develop participatory projects that begin as powerful ideas and emerge through dialogue and co-creation with local people.
Since 2018, Gasworks has developed Participation Residency projects exploring a broad range of issues and ideas, from feminist economics and deep listening to workers’ rights and celebration and rest as radical acts.
Gasworks’ Participation Advisory Board support the Participation Residency artist, participants and overall programme through non-hierarchical and reflective methods, embedding evaluation as a part of the process, rather than an afterthought. The Board meets monthly and is made up of participants, artists, sta , and critical friends.
The residency is supported by the City Bridge Foundation.
