VANTAGE Art Flats is now accepting applications for temporary residency in the 500 block of Main Street in downtown Danville, VA. This studio residency, located in the heart of downtown, will give the selected artist an opportunity to fully immerse themselves in a creative environment. It will allow the artist a period of time to live and work away from the stresses of everyday life. The brand-new flat is a one-bedroom, ground-level space with an adjacent glass-enclosed studio and gallery. The ideal candidate will be a visual artist comfortable working independently with an occasional audience. In addition, the artist will be required to educate in a weekly rotation, coordinated by the Arts Department in the public school setting. We have opportunities for emerging and mid-career, national, and international visual artists. Vantage Art Flats respectfully requests that all artists applying for the Artist in Residency at the River District be aware that our facilities are family-friendly establishments, visited by all ages, genders, religions, et cetera, and it is for this reason we at Vantage Art Flats call for only appropriately groomed expressions of art.
