The Environmental Artist Residency is a three-week immersive program designed for artists whose practices engage with ecological issues, changing climate conditions, and the natural world. This residency offers an opportunity to explore and respond to the distinctive ecological landscape of Nantucket, a coastal island undergoing rapid environmental change such as erosion, sea-level rise, and shifting habitats. Selected artists will live and work on Nantucket for the duration of the residency, creating new work informed by the island’s environment and its climate-related challenges. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with local residents, organizations, and environmental experts, fostering meaningful exchange and community engagement. Throughout the program, artists will also contribute to public dialogue around environmental stewardship and climate resilience. This residency provides dedicated time, space, and support for artists to pursue creative inquiry within a fragile and inspiring ecosystem. Artists from all disciplines who focus on environmental themes are encouraged to apply.
