Spaces and Structures at Art Gene is a 25-day residency forming part of Art Gene’s 25th anniversary programme, inviting artists to reimagine and activate internal spaces within the Nan Tait Centre in Barrow-in-Furness. With a focus on socially engaged, place-based, and environmentally conscious practices, the residency supports the development of new structures or spatial interventions that respond to Art Gene’s legacy of regeneration and community engagement. Artists will receive funding, access to studio and fabrication facilities, and are expected to engage the public through workshops or events, contributing toward a 2027 exhibition celebrating Art Gene’s 25×25 initiative.
