What changes when you take solvents out of oil painting? Los Angeles artist and author Kimberly Brooks is coming to Burnt Sienna to teach her approach in person, in a small group with time to paint, ask questions and develop your work.
Kimberly wrote The New Oil Painting and founded the arts column at The Huffington Post. She is exceptionally well connected in the art world, and this weekend is also an important opportunity for artists thinking seriously about their professional practice. The private dinner is a chance to meet Kimberly and the other participants, talk about your work, and make connections beyond the studio.
The seminar welcomes practising artists who want to rethink their materials, as well as painters who have been hesitant to use oils because of solvents. After the weekend, two online sessions with Kimberly offer a chance to discuss how you have applied what you learnt to your own painting practice.
