Art Omi: Architecture invites early- to mid-career architects from across the world to develop their work on Art Omi's campus.
Art Omi: Architecture nurtures experimentation in environs that offer a singular blend of rural quiet and cultural stimulation. Residents present their work to the public during the Open Studios event at the end of the residency period.
Architecture Residents are selected on the basis of their individual proposed project and portfolio. Applicants must submit and describe a project they wish to work on, on their own, while at Art Omi. Projects may be conceptual or practical, and may be an on-going or existing project that requires completion or a new design scheme to be initiated and completed by the end of the residency. Projects may not be client-based nor directed. In all instances a visual presentation and a final work product is required.
Applications are open to architects from any part of the world that have been professionally active for at least the past five years since professional licensing or obtaining an M. Arch. degree in the U.S. or internationally. Applications will be accepted from architects in active practice or in academia with an architectural design teaching concentration.
Residency Dates: Thursday, May 27–Monday, June 14, 2027
Art Omi: Dance brings together accomplished dance artists from around the world. Residents experience each other’s creative process and the freedom to play in this collaborative residency program.
The emphasis of the Art Omi: Dance residency is not a performance product; rather, a gently facilitated process of experimentation and collaboration.
This exploration is enhanced by providing resources that dancers and choreographers often lack: space, time, and other artists with whom to work. The result is a model of creative process and community building that envisions impact for the participants beyond the sphere of art making. Informal showings each summer invite the public to experience the residents' creative process, collaborations, and the development of their ideas.
Art Omi: Dance welcomes professional dancers and choreographers of all styles who have the desire to share ideas and process with dancers from around the world. Applicants should not have specific projects in mind, but should come open to working with others on jointly conceived projects.
Residency Dates: Thursday, July 22–Monday, August 9, 2027
Art Omi: Music welcomes musicians, composers, and sound-makers working in all genres and hailing from around the globe for a uniquely collaborative music-making residency.
Art Omi: Music encourages its participants to share ideas, perform each other’s works, and write music for one another, while exploring their own musical vision and broadening their artistic and cultural horizons. Informal concerts invite the public to experience the shared creative process and artistic journey of the residents.
As Art Omi: Music encourages and fosters participation in new collaborative environments, only applications from individual applicants are accepted.
Residency Dates: Thursday, August 12–Monday, August 30, 2027
