The full name of the foundation is "Kirsten Overgaard Hjortholm Olsen and Gunnar Steen Jacobsen's Family Foundation", and it was established to support the art and cultural life of Aarhus.

The foundation supports art and cultural life in Aarhus Municipality – primarily music, sculpture, visual arts and landscape art.

When the foundation's purpose is to support the arts and cultural life in Aarhus, this does not mean that you as an applicant must reside in Aarhus, but that you must relate to and argue for how your work, project or initiative can contribute to a richer arts and cultural life in Aarhus.
