The call for applications for the Tartu UNESCO City of Literature International Residency (15 October – 15 December 2026) is now open.
Tartu, Estonia’s second-largest town and UNESCO City of Literature, offers a diverse literary scene. The Tartu City of Literature residency programme aims to foster international literary exchange, support creative work, and introduce international authors and translators to Estonian audiences.
The autumn residency period includes the week of the interdisciplinary literary festival Crazy Tartu, held 12–14 November, bringing together writers, poets, musicians and artists from Estonia and abroad. The resident will be offered an opportunity to perform at the festival.
