Together with the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, the Hamburgische Kulturstiftung and the Rudolf Augstein Foundation, the Fleetstreet Theater Hamburg has been running a residency program since 01.01.2011 for groups of artists who work as interdisciplinary as possible in the performing arts, visual arts, film and/or music.
The Fleetstreet Residency Program is intended to support young groups that develop productions with manageable financial resources that are suitable for smaller theater spaces. The funding should also offer the opportunity to deepen research, try out new strategies and develop work processes; the final presentations can take the form of showings, interim presentations, discussions, exhibitions, workshops etc. and do not necessarily have to take the form of a finished production.
The aim of the Fleetstreet Residency Program is to give groups of artists the opportunity to work independently on a project in the Fleetstreet Theater and to make this project or the working process in the Fleetstreet Theater accessible to the public.
The focus of the residency is on promoting research projects and experiments that often cannot take place in traditional production contexts.
