The Theodor Körner Fund aims to promote emerging scientists and artists. Applications are welcome for ongoing scientific research projects, as well as art, literature, and composition projects . The fund also supports the development of research designs intended to serve as the basis for competitive grant applications (FWF or equivalent).
The Theodor Körner Fund awards its prizes exclusively for " work in progress ." The submitted project must have already begun but not be completed before the end of the respective application year. Submitted projects must be conceived and carried out independently by the applicants and must be feasible within two years. For the 2026 application year, this means a completion deadline between January 1, 2027, and October 31, 2028.
In the scientific disciplines, only research projects are eligible for funding. Outreach, translation, and publication projects, etc., are therefore excluded from application. Likewise, Bachelor's and Diploma/Master's theses, habilitation projects, and commissioned research are generally not eligible for funding.
