Overview

Arte Laguna Prize, the free-themed Venice-based International Contemporary Art Competition that welcomes and exhibits emerging artists of all ages, countries, genders and artistic backgrounds, offers numerous opportunities for participants thanks to its two-decades experience.

In addition to the exhibition in the iconic 3,000-square-meter area of the Arsenale Nord in Venice for the 120 finalist artists, and the € 10,000 prize for the overall winner, all participants have the additional opportunity to access the Special Prizes created in collaboration with international partners: last but not least, the Special Prize CIAL, dedicated to Art and Sustainability.

Created in collaboration CIAL (Consortium Packaging Aluminium), the Special Prize calls for artworks, products and creative projects—from design and photography to video art and performance—that explore the potential of aluminium and aluminium packaging hrough the lens of the RRR strategies: Reuse, Recycle, Reduce. The CIAL Prize awards €3,000 to the most compelling project that reimagines aluminium as a resource for the future, celebrating transformation, circularity and environmental responsibility.

CIAL, a national non-profit consortium, has been a key player in aluminum packaging recovery and recycling in Italy since 1997, helping the country reach and even surpass European targets. Through this renewed partnership, Arte Laguna Prize reinforces its long-standing commitment to sustainability, which since 2015 has involved artists and consortia in a dialogue between art and material reuse, including paper, glass, plastic—and now, once again, aluminium.

All Special Prizes of Arte Laguna Prize share a common mission: to foster social development, promote sustainability, and support the professional growth of artists by connecting creativity with visionary partners and real-world opportunities. The Special Prizes for this edition include art residences world wide, collaborations with companies and art galleries, art festivals and group exhibitions and art and social projects.
