Englewood Arts (EA) is thrilled to announce the opening of applications for our fourth year of artist residencies. We invite artists working in Performing and Visual Arts including, but not limited to Glassblowing, Ceramics, Woodworking, Painting, Fibers, 2D, or 3D,Performance or Writing, to apply.
EA is committed to building meaningful connections between artists and the broader community through access, collaboration, and creative exchange.Our residency program is designed to support artists at different stages of their professional journey while fostering an environment of experimentation, learning, and shared growth.
Residency Structure:
To best support artists at varying career stages, EA offers three residency levels. These levels reflect professional development needs and program alignment - not artistic merit or quality. Applicants should apply to the level that best fits their current practice.

Foundation Resident Artist
Best suited for artists in the early stages of building a professional practice, who have completed a collegiate arts program or have equivalent experience.
This level is ideal for artists who:
Are within the first 1-3 years of professional practice
Are establishing consistency in their studio and professional routines
Are seeking structured support, mentorship, and feedback
What to expect:
Access to a semi-private studio space and shared resources
Structured professional development opportunities
Opportunities for exhibitions, teaching, and community engagement
Regular check-ins and feedback
Opportunities to build confidence, skills, and portfolio work
Regular service tasks including but not limited to studio maintenance, events, etc.
This level focuses on establishing strong creative and professional foundations while supporting experimentation and growth.
Stipend Amount: $1000

Studio Resident Artist
Designed for artists who have completed a collegiate program or have equivalent experience, with an active practice who are ready for increased independence and visibility.
This level is ideal for artists who:
Have 3–6 years of professional experience
Are actively producing, exhibiting, teaching, or selling work
Are seeking stability, studio access, and opportunities to refine their practice
What to expect:
Access to a semi-private studio space and shared resources
Optional professional development opportunities
Opportunities for exhibitions, teaching, and community engagement
Fewer required check-ins, with staff support as needed
Semi-regular service tasks including but not limited to production, events, etc.
This level represents the core of the residency program and supports sustained creative production and growth.
Stipend Amount: $1500

Career Resident Artist
Intended for mid-career artists interested in leadership, mentorship, and community impact. This artist may have completed post graduate studies or have equivalent experience. This artist may be in the seventh to twelfth year of their professional practice.
This level is ideal for artists who:
Have an established, sustained body of work
Are comfortable navigating professional opportunities independently
Are interested in contributing to the artistic community through mentorship, teaching, or leadership
What to expect:
Maximum creative autonomy
Opportunities for mentorship, teaching, and high-visibility projects
Priority consideration for commissions or special initiatives
Minimal required professional development
No service requirement
This level supports artists who are ready to deepen their impact while continuing to grow their practice.
Stipend Amount: $2000
Housing & Accessibility:
Limited shared living accommodations may be available for resident artists, with monthly costs ranging from $400 to $600, to support artists who wish to more fully immerse themselves in the residency experience.
