Since 1998, the Bourse du Talent (Talent Grant) has recognized the talent of young photographers by supporting emerging talent each year. Organized by Photographie.com and the Picto Foundation , this event has become a key gathering dedicated to showcasing emerging artists. It serves as a springboard to professionalization and market access for these budding talents.
Since 2023, the Bourse du Talent has focused on new documentary approaches developed by young photographers to continue telling the story of our world while incorporating new forms and methods of mediation. At a time when press images tend to be projected onto screens rather than printed on glossy paper, and when emerging artists are increasingly combining their projects across a plurality of media and styles, the Bourse du Talent continues to be a platform for all these new documentary expressions.
Each year, three Talent Grants are awarded to photographers whose projects explore new documentary strategies, whether through approaches that intersect with visual art, science, literature, or any other cross-disciplinary approach used to serve storytelling, or through the use of new technologies to enhance narrative expression. The Talent Grant is open to photographers of all nationalities, receptive to all subjects and forms of expression, and encourages eco-responsible and socially engaged approaches .
