The studio grant is part of the municipal funding for independent cultural work. It serves to partially finance studios in the field of visual arts with the aim of maintaining and promoting spaces for the production of art within the city of Nuremberg.
Requirements for funding:
Only studios located within the city limits of Nuremberg that are used as work and production spaces are eligible for funding. Both rented and self-built or purchased studios with incomplete financing are eligible.
In addition to individual funding, infrastructure funding is also possible: The expansion of studio and workshop spaces (e.g., studio buildings) can be supported with a maximum of 20% of the funds available annually for studio funding. A prerequisite for this is that the premises in question are permanently available as studios and production facilities.
In exceptional cases, funding for studio space within an apartment is also possible. When applying, applicants must specify what percentage of the floor space is used as living space and what percentage is used as studio space. Only the portion of the costs attributable to the space used as a studio is eligible for funding.
