The 3rd Art Prize will be awarded on Sunday, June 6, 2027, in the Old Steam Bath in Baden-Baden. We are delighted that the Society of Friends of Young Art is a partner of the 3rd Art Prize in the TRK "Peter Weibel".
Digitalization, automation, flexibilization, and decarbonization are rapidly changing the labor market and putting pressure on the working population. This pressure is further intensified by demographic change, as the aging of society means that far fewer people will be available to the labor market in 2050 than today, while social security systems (currently financed by work performance) will have to support significantly more non-working individuals.
To secure today's prosperity, the workforce must be increasingly well-educated. On the other hand, the use of humanoid robots and artificial intelligence promises to alleviate the labor shortage. However, they will not be able to eliminate it entirely: high costs, laws restricting their use, and the varying levels of technological affinity or unfamiliarity among potential users limit their application. Furthermore, they cannot replace socio-emotional interpersonal interaction. Consequently, jobs in certain sectors will disappear, while new jobs and tasks will emerge. In conjunction with issues surrounding equality and migration, the labor market will change—whether we like it or not. Against the backdrop of the demographic shift described, the perception of work in general will also change and may undergo a re-evaluation.
