The FLASH residency will be awarded via application (to include a project proposal). The successful applicants will be offered the Basement Gallery Space at 44AD artspace to use as a project space to work in. The project space will be available to the successful candidate between 7am to 10pm daily.
Wifi is available.
44AD artspace currently facilitates 16 on-site studio artists, therefore each FLASH resident artist will be creating and making within a supportive environment. Throughout the studio residency, each FLASH resident artist will be expected to deliver a programme of (free admission) FLASH events at 44AD artspace. In total: 1 x (1.5 hour) workshop and 2 x (1 hour informal group discussion sessions) to the local and wider community.
The FLASH Residency will culminate in a one week exhibition in the ground floor gallery at 44AD artspace; with a Private View hosted at the beginning of the week and a FLASH: (viewing and conversation event held around either the finished or work in progress) at the end.
This is a great opportunity for the resident artist to gather feedback from both the visiting public and peers. FLASH Residency and associated events will be fully marketed and promoted by 44AD artspace.
Priority for FLASH Artist Residencies will be given to artists, who may not necessarily have the opportunity and financial resource to make work in a studio environment and afford exhibiting costs.
