Bunker Projects' Free Residency Program provides an enriching environment for both local and visiting artists from across the country to create new work and forge meaningful connections. By integrating studio production, public exhibition, and art publication, our residency is driven by a mission to support artists and bring compelling new works to our ever-growing community.
A residency at Bunker Projects provides time and space for artistic development while fostering a sense of community and collaboration. Residents are provided with free housing and studio space, participation in our public-facing monthly programming, and a variety of professional and artistic development opportunities during their stay. By participating in our residency program, artists gain the opportunity to immerse themselves in a vibrant cultural landscape, contributing to and benefiting from the dynamic creative energy that defines Bunker Projects.
Program Requirements
While we provide a lot of opportunities for our residents, our requirements are pretty laid back. We want you to make what you want out of your residency experience and not interfere in the time and space needed to make new innovative work. The things we do ask of our residents are:
Residents may be asked to volunteer up to 10 hours of their time to help out around the space (sitting gallery hours, assisting with events, etc)
Residents are asked to be present during our monthly public open studio events that occur from 6-9pm on the first Friday of each month.
If you are a social media user, we ask that you post about your experience at Bunker throughout your time so we can share that with our audience. Our community loves to see what our resident artists are creating!
We ask that everyone be respectful and kind - we are a non-judgemental space where all are welcome.
