We are looking for an artist or collective to create a site-specific public artwork for Kulturhuset DUX in Kristinestad (Finland) — in close dialogue with place and local communities.
Any medium is welcome: installation, sound, textile, light, digital, or object-based work. What matters is the relationship between people, place, and artwork.
The project is run by Art Factory Malakta in collaboration with Kulturhuset Dux and Kristinestads Artists' Residency.

We are looking for an artist who wants to:
Strengthen Kulturhuset Dux as a meeting place
Work in dialogue with local community
Explore sustainable materials and methods
Create an artwork with long-term significance
The artwork must be completed by summer 2027 and requires the artist to be present on site.
Residency focus:
Meet locals, explore Kulturhuset DUX, arrange workshops, and develop your concept on site.
Rooted in Kristinestad’s Cittaslow values: sustainability, quality, presence, and local connection (Baltic Sea Cultural Pearl 2026).
