residency grant 2026

The City of Duisburg and the Duisburg Artists' Association are offering a residency grant for a studio in the Rheinhausen district for 2026, for which artists can apply.

Duisburg is home to three major art museums: the Lehmbruck Museum, the DKM (Denkmalmuseum Duisburg), and the MKM (Museum Küppersmühle). Numerous other museums in the Ruhr region and the Rhineland are located nearby and easily accessible by public transport. The city of Duisburg has a long tradition of supporting visual artists, providing nearly 40 municipal studios rent-free to artists. Artists in Duisburg are well-organized and represented by the IG (Interest Group of Duisburg Artists), which co-initiated the residency grant.

The duration of stay is 1 year (January 1 - December 31, 2026).
