The project invites and works intimately with artists and chefs among many other creatives, to develop their own large or small scale projects that add to the story of Compton Bassett House. The residency programme aims to reflect on the long relationship of the multiple narratives of food seen through art and art seen through food.
The display context helps us to understand how the environment and immediate surroundings can influence our encounter with art and food using this as the curatorial framework. The landscape and environment can provide crucial context for creativity and with many acres of land, whimsical raised beds of vegetables and herbs, flowing and flowering fruit trees to the giant Take That robot that sits between the trees, creativity can take on many forms.
