The Cecilia Way is based on the an unspoken story in the T.S eliot play The Cocktail Party, St Cecilia, the patron St of music. and The Miracle of the Sun which was an event on 13 October 1917 in which 30,000 to 100,000 people, who were gathered near Fátima, Portugal, claimed to have witnessed extraordinary solar activity.

Jason Haye must have been at the end of his boredom rope to google “5am” at…well, 5 in the morning. But the Gods of Internet Fate had their own path for our young electro-artist. What he found was a the poem of the same title (5am) by Allen Ginsberg that inspired him to put a name to his thoughts. And so came, Project 5am; an avant garde onslaught on the senses that comes off like Daedelus crossed with Stars on the Lid. Drawing inspiration from experimental artists both audio (Brian Eno) and visual (Brakhage Maya Deren), Project 5am is best taken with a clear mind and a pair of headphones. His latest album, Quixotes of Moons fights the Windmills of Brixton, is a beautiful and moving piece of work. This is music for audio spacemen.

A visual take the on T.S Eliot play The cocktail party and The cocktail party effect, the phenomenon of being able to focus one's auditory attention on a particular stimulus while filtering out a range of other stimuli, That captures the theme of the piece which is about making a choice.

Inspired from the poem "The Way" which is a collection of thoughts created from 2007-2012 ephemeral facebook/twitter status in response to the Allen Ginsberg poem Five Am and the Michael Snow experimental film 'wavelength' where instead of the camera covering the scale and range of a room by zooming in, the body performs the same function as the camera by walking into the foggy infinite distance of the unknown.
