The Pipeline Project

TEN project explores the idea of family relationships in connection to time. It started as a result of meeting one of my cousins, Gabriela, after almost 10 years; we spent little time together, trying to rediscover each other and (re)create a connection. Although natural and absolutely not staged, the series of portraits explores the familiarity versus the unknown, the blood relationships, the time and the distance. The title is also connected to Gabriela's maximum grade (10) that she received on a recent MA graduation exam. Will update it soon.

Do we imprint ourselves on the objects we own? What happened with that 'signature' of ours when we transfer the objects? What does what we don't need anymore say about us? A photography study into the ideas of material culture, memory and waste!

Dying Hands: Touching the Glory is a cultural anthropological ongoing project, aiming at documenting the impact of modernity on the traditional rural life style in Romania.  In an attempt to find the solid core of the Romanian archaic cultural resistance, the project hopes to investigate, record and document the last traces and testimonies of traditions, habits, customs that define and are still able to save a national identity in a global context in which the boundaries between modern and traditional are generally dissolved and the majority of traditions forgotten.
