I photograph places in Poland that I have so many beautiful memories with that I miss so much and want to visit them again. The memory factor plays a very important role, the familiarity gives me a feeling that whatever happens in my life those places will be always there.  The memory of their existence constitutes my identity. 

Landscape of Nostalgia

The general idea of the series is to search for the connection between feelings of nostalgia, the fascination of nature, and the intriguing power of female eroticism. In a rediscovered artist’s childhood sanctuary - Sulejów - a little village where her father grew up and where she spent most of her childhood holidays she depicts women in the same summer house and surrounding landscapes.

After moving to Berlin artist gets quickly introduced to its fertile ground for creative people. They, instead of fulfilling social expectations, can fully dedicate to freedom of artistic expression in an unpretentious way. By encountering the most vibrant personae of Berlin’s bohemia she gets encouraged to wipe her artistic palette clean and reimagined her creative quest. What motivates her to pay tribute and recognition to the artists and her fellow friends by portraying them.

Berlin Wunderland

Looking for places that make me feel home, Berlin after years becomes familiar to me and I discover new places different than the places Berlin is known from, my neighborhood, the paths of my common walks etc. I am capturing their charm even if they wouldn't be probably even noticed.

Berlin, my new Heimat

Paradwaas is my personal muse, my partner in crime that inspires me to rebel against bullshit. He is a multi-talented person obsessed with collecting and spinning psychedelic records from all over the world, knowing everything about games, formula 1, and quantum physics, from time to time photographing and collaging, also for a profession he is a great cook experimenting with post-colonial Dutch - Indonesian flavor. We found each other in between Poland and Holland - in Berlin and cherish our adventurous nature and child-like passion for life.

A collaboration between Joanna Szproch, a choreographer Mateusz Czyczerski, and a curator Agata Ciastoń.

The show is the result of a meeting between the medium of photography which is commonly used to aestheticize and objectify carnality with the art of performance based on deep and often extreme contact with the body.

The title BODYWHOLENESS was created by combining the words body and whole, in a synthetic way it refers to the issues of the project. It is an attempt to think of man as a holistic being, in which carnality is inseparably intertwined with the soul and mind. Such an attitude is important, especially today, when busy with everyday life, overwhelmed by media messages, bombarded by visual stimuli, we forget about the body, we think only about its external surface – its appearance. We cease to be in the body, to be the body, to be the BODYWHOLENESS.

The photo project portraying Bibgul who calls herself an Experimental Amateur Exhibitionist/ Filmmaker/ Famous Dancer / Percussionist / Sexy Hat / Fashion Designer. Her child-like yet provocative charisma inspired both artists to have together several shootings over a period of 
2 years. To disobey the fashion industry’s snobbery and fakeness, they developed a rough and controversial DIY working style and Szproch with a sense of irony decided to finish a project in a form of a glamorous magazine mock-up in an edition of 10 copies.

The purpose of that very colorful composition of diverse photographs is to inspire for playful self-exploration situated far from self-censorship, heteronormativity, or shame by overcoming stereotypes and paying attention to the importance of being in contact with the body and sexuality as an integral part of our nature.

An ongoing photo-project self-portraying an artist’s relationship with her significant one within a culturally underrepresented female - perceptive and intellectual - perspective. In a very unconventional style, mixing staged and snapshot photography artist explores an authentic mind- and body- inter-
connection deromanticizes stereotypes and shows the beauty of an ordinary.


May We Be A Blessing To Each Other?

@Smilefomedaddy is a project that I have been creating in the last decade in cooperation with my muse and friend Patrycja. Over the course of years we transform from princesses into queens of life, conscious of our power and boundaries. This is a story about coming out of our shells, discovering our femininity and maturing along the way. It is a visual journey somewhere between Warsaw and Berlin. It is almost like a fairy tale therapy, giving us a chance to face our own shame and discover our bodies. In order to live fully, we must give ourselves permission to desire and find joy. Too often this is forbidden.
