Darkness

For this special edition, Collect Art invites artists to explore darkness in its many forms—from the psychological and emotional to the physical, symbolic, and poetic. Darkness may speak of solitude, hidden memories, fear, dreams, the unknown, night, silence, or the unseen dimensions of existence.

Darkness is more than the absence of light. It is a space of mystery, introspection, uncertainty, transformation, and imagination. It can conceal, protect, reveal, or invite us to see beyond what is immediately visible.

We welcome artworks that interpret darkness through personal experience, atmosphere, symbolism, contrast, or abstraction, offering viewers an opportunity to discover what emerges when light becomes limited and perception begins to change.

What can be found in the dark—and what becomes visible only when we stop looking for light?
