SooVAC is now accepting submissions for Untitled 21, one of our flagship exhibition series.
SooVAC invites guest jurors with international reputations to select work from open submissions. Untitled offers artists the opportunity to work in a professional art space alongside influential art figures and to produce a highly regarded exhibition. We accept all media from artists at any stage in their careers. We will select work from the submitted samples, so please ensure the work is available for exhibition.

ABOUT THIS YEAR’S JUROR:
Bo Young An is a Seoul-born, Pattaya-raised, Minneapolis-based creative who works as a Graphic Designer, Illustrator, Muralist, Curator, and Educator. She received her B.A. in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts from the University of Washington, Seattle, and her MFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2022. Her work has been shown at exhibitions in Seoul + Hanam (KR), Honfleur (FR), Leon (SP), Seattle + Wisconsin + Minnesota (USA). She is currently an artist-in-residence at Second Shift in St. Paul.
Robert Cozzolino is an independent curator, art historian, and critic based in Minneapolis. Dr. Cozzolino is especially drawn to artists who aspire to visually express the intangible, and he considers himself a curator of fluid time, unbound by imposed labels and bins. First trained as a musician, he has played free-improvised music as a percussionist for over 30 years. He has curated over 40 exhibitions, including Reimagining Native/American Art (2023-24), Supernatural America: The Paranormal in American Art (2021-22), World War I and American Art (2016), Peter Blume: Nature and Metamorphosis (2014), David Lynch: The Unified Field (2014), and With Friends: Six Magic Realists 1940-1965 (2005), among many others.

1. Application Form-Fill in all your contact information on Submittable.
2. WORK SAMPLES-EXACTLY 5 IMAGES (FOR VIDEO SEE BELOW*) Work Samples must be of work available for the show; details are accepted as part of your 5 work samples. Upload Format: Images must be in JPEG format, no larger than 2400 pixels on the longest side, at 72 dpi. Format each JPEG file name as “Artist’s last name_Artist’s first name_1.jpg,” “Artist’s last name_ Artist’s first name_2.jpg,” etc. Save images in RGB; they should not exceed 2MB. *Video Submissions are also accepted in .mov format, no larger than 300MB, and no more than 2-minute clips for each video or audio submission; label them the same as image files.
3. IMAGE LIST- Fill out each Image description field with the following information: List the following information for each work (make sure your image number corresponds to the label on your JPEG images): -Title of work -Date completed -Medium -Dimensions (H” x W” x D”) PLEASE INCLUDE TITLE, MEDIUM, DIMENSIONS, AND DATE. OR YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
4. ARTIST STATEMENT – doc, docx, txt, rtf, or pdf format accepted. Label this document: Artist’s last name_Artist’s first name_artiststatement.doc ex. Doe_Jane_Artiststatement.doc. No longer than 1 page.
5. RESUME – doc, docx, txt, rtf, or pdf format accepted. Label this document: Artist’s last name_Artist’s first name_Resume.doc, ex. Doe_Jane_Resume.doc. Please provide a website if you have one. If you are applying as a group or collaborative team, include all participating artists' resumes in one document.
