I myself am an artist, photography is my means of expression, the medium chosen to stimulate and connect people. The emotional and personal component of my work is very expressive. And what could be more expressive than a face, huh?
I like facial expression and what it conveys in terms of emotion. By the way you can see my work on my website. https://www.bigmotha.com/
I am currently a student at Ostkreuz Schule für Fotografie, a school of photography professionals. Not only a school but artistic and socially committed photography agency as well.
The new focus of my work will be on documentary and reportage. My theme will be activist and will focus on non-binary and fluid gender. The freedom not to define oneself as society has considered it beforehand but as a distinct entity that does not aim to create a new box with a label. The aim is to make these boxes disappear and discourage their creators from using them again.
Focus on the human and not on gender, sexuality, appearance and judgment. The ultimate importance is to feel good about yourself in your mind and body. This theme is also very personal, I have asked myself several times as a younger person, why is our society so binary and how to overcome received ideas and communicate a message that allows an open mind on this subject. My answer to date would be Artistic Activism !
I am looking for engaged Events, Conferences, Associations, Group Talks and individuals dealing with this theme and willing to share about it.
